A2.0 workshop: systematization of lessons learned

Between October 24th and 26th, 2021, the Amazonia 2.0 project  held a workshop in the city of Puyo, in the Ecuadorian Amazon, to continue the process of systematizing the lessons learned from the project.

The workshop was facilitated by Alejandro Imbach, A2.0 strategic consultant, and was attended by the Regional Coordination team and the project's technical coordinators in Ecuador, Colombia, Brazil and Peru.

During this  three-day workshop, the team carried out exercises to review the project's Theory of Change, as well as to validate and update the information obtained in the project's systematization exercise in 2020. In addition, group dynamics were carried out to discuss and evaluate issues related to the internal governance of Amazonia 2.0, the lessons learned from the project and the harvesting of results for advocacy processes.

This meeting allowed the Amazonia 2.0 team to attend the closing event of the project in Ecuador, organized by our partner Fundación EcoCiencia. This event was held the morning of October 25th, also in the city of Puyo, and included presentations by Carmen Josse, executive director of Fundación EcoCiencia; Javier Vargas, technical coordinator of A2.0 in Ecuador; Ana María Acosta, communications officer of Fundación EcoCiencia; and Sylvia Villacís, developer of the A2.0 GeoVisor. Members of NAWE and AMWAE, direct beneficiaries of the project in Ecuador, also attended the event.

Members of the Amazonia 2.0 Regional Coordination, including Braulio Buendía, regional coordinator; Alejandro Imbach, consultant; and Andrea Cucalón, project technical officer, also participated in the closing ceremony and presented regional information on the project, the regional platform and A2.0 regional publications.

This face-to-face meeting, with some members  of our consortium, was a great opportunity to reflect on the efforts of the project and its sustainability, in addition to being a joyful gathering that allowed us to interact after the confinement resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic.
